Daylight saving time 2027: clock changes by country

This daylight saving time 2027 table lists every clock change in about 70 countries during the year. For each change it gives the date, whether clocks go forward or back and by how much, the local time of the change and the new UTC offset.

Countries listed here that do not change clocks in 2027

Brazil, Fiji, Iran, Jordan, Morocco, Paraguay, Samoa, Syria.

How to use the table

Each row is one clock change in 2027. The columns show:

  • Country, with the region or time zone where rules differ within a country.
  • Date of the change.
  • Change: clocks forward or back, and by how much, usually one hour.
  • Local time of change: the local time just before the clocks move.
  • New UTC offset: the offset that applies from that moment.

Type into Filter countries to show only the countries you need. The January–June, July–December and Full year buttons limit the table to part of the year. Below the table, a list names the countries covered here that do not change their clocks in 2027.

The main patterns

Most clock changes follow a few common rules:

Region Clocks go forward Clocks go back
European Union and UK Last Sunday in March, 01:00 UTC Last Sunday in October, 01:00 UTC
United States and Canada Second Sunday in March, 2:00 local First Sunday in November, 2:00 local
Most of the southern hemisphere September or October April

In Europe the change happens at the same instant everywhere, so the local time of the change differs from one zone to the next. In North America each zone changes at 2:00 its own local time, one after another from east to west. South of the equator summer runs from roughly October to March, so clocks go forward when they go back in the north.

Where the data comes from

The dates are computed from the IANA time zone database, the collection of rules used by phones, computers and servers worldwide. It records each government’s decisions, including past changes and announced future ones. Governments can, and sometimes do, change their daylight saving rules with little warning, so for travel or critical scheduling close to a change it is worth checking a local official source.

Countries without a change

Most of Asia, most of Africa and many countries near the equator keep the same time all year. Some countries have used daylight saving time in the past and dropped it. Countries in that situation appear in the list below the table rather than in the table itself.

More about daylight saving time

For the current status in major regions and the last and next change, see daylight saving time. To understand the mechanics, read how daylight saving time works or the short guide to spring forward, fall back. To plan around a change, the time difference tool shows when the gap between two places shifts.

Frequently asked questions

Do all countries change their clocks on the same day?

No. The European Union and the UK change together, and the United States and most of Canada change together, but on different Sundays. Countries in the southern hemisphere change at the opposite time of year, and many countries do not change at all.

Why do some countries appear twice?

Where rules differ within a country, each region with its own rules gets a row, for example a state or territory that changes its clocks on a different date or not at all.

Can the dates in this table change?

Yes. The table is computed from the IANA time zone database, which records the rules each government has announced. Governments sometimes change or cancel daylight saving time at short notice, and the table follows the rules recorded in the database.
