Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains, in plain language, what happens to the information you enter on Chronira. In short: calculations run in your browser, there is no account and no database, and nothing you type into a tool is sent to a server.

Calculations happen on your device

Every Chronira tool calculates in your browser. When you enter a date of birth, two dates, a shift or a countdown, the numbers are processed by code already loaded on your device. They are not sent to a server, not stored in a database and not shared with anyone. There is no account, no sign-up and no login.

The site’s fonts and scripts are served from Chronira’s own domain. No third-party scripts, advertising or tracking tools are loaded at launch.

What may be saved in your browser

Some features remember things for your convenience. These are saved in your browser’s local storage, on your device only, and never leave it.

What When it is saved
Theme (light, dark or automatic) When you change the theme
Digit preference (Arabic pages) When you switch between digit styles
Recently used tools When you open a tool (the last few tool pages, used for shortcuts)
Saved countdowns Only when you press Save on a countdown
Saved time card Only when you tick the option to remember it; it includes the hours, settings and the name field if you filled it in
Birthday (month and day) Only when you tick “remember” on the birthday countdown
Timer sound preference When you mute or unmute a timer
Offline copy of the site When your browser keeps pages for offline use or after you install Chronira

Unticking a “remember” option deletes that saved item straight away.

How to clear it

The Clear data saved in this browser button, below this policy and in the footer of every page, removes everything in the list above, including the offline copy. You can also clear site data for chronira.com in your browser settings. Private or incognito windows usually discard local storage when they close.

Cookies

Chronira sets no cookies at launch. Theme and other preferences use local storage, which stays on your device and is not sent with requests.

Some results can be shared as a link. The link carries your inputs after the “#” sign at the end of the address (for example the event name and date of a countdown). Browsers never send the part after “#” to a server, so the values do not reach Chronira when the link is opened. However, anyone who receives the link can read those values, so only share it with people you are happy to show them to.

Reporting an error by email

The Report an error button opens your own email app with a message that contains only the page address. Nothing else is added: you choose what to write. If you send the email, Chronira receives your email address and your message and uses them only to reply and to investigate the problem.

Hosting

Chronira is served by a static hosting and content delivery provider. Like any website, its servers process standard technical data, such as your IP address, the address of the page requested and your browser type, in order to deliver pages and keep the site available. This data does not include anything you type into the tools.

Analytics and advertising

There are no analytics and no advertising at launch. If anonymous analytics (Google Analytics 4) is added later:

  • it will only record anonymous events such as “tool opened” or “copy clicked”, never calculation inputs such as dates, times, names or durations;
  • page addresses will be recorded without URL parameters or the “#” part;
  • consent will be requested where the law requires it, such as in the EU, the UK and Switzerland, and no analytics cookies will be set there until you agree;
  • this policy will be updated before the change takes effect.

Changes and questions

If Chronira’s data practices change, this policy will be updated before the change takes effect. For any privacy question, write through the contact page.
